Trabzonspor officially confirmed the move via a short statement on their X account: “Negotiations have begun regarding the transfer of professional footballer Mohamed Salah to our club. https://twitter.com/Trabzonspor/status/2084738635807457500?s=20 By Tuesday night, the Turkish club released detailed travel arrangements confirming when Salah will touch down to complete his medical and formalise the two-year agreement: “Professional footballer Mohamed Salah, with whom we have begun transfer negotiations, will be at Istanbul Atatürk Airport General Aviation Terminal at 12:00 on Wednesday, August 5 (tomorrow).
Salah’s exit from Anfield was accelerated during a challenging 2025/26 campaign. It is understood via talkSPORT that Salah agreed to amend the final year of his £20million-a-year contract to be allowed to leave on a free transfer a settlement structure similar to former manager Jurgen Klopp’s exit in 2024.
